Gabi Carter

Gabi Carter, originally from coastal Georgia, served in the Army at Fort Carson, Colorado, and deployed to Afghanistan. After her honorable discharge, she earned her first IT certifications and launched her tech career at NORAD/NorthCom. She started on the help desk, but it wasn't long before she was promoted to Systems Administrator where she promptly fell in love with Linux (it's a lifelong commitment at this point). From there, she went on to work at Bitdefender and Red Hat before landing her role as a DevOps Engineer at Downstream, a Portland-based design firm. Currently, Gabi is a Senior Cloud Egineer for Dragos where she designs and implements secure cloud infrastructure accross multiple cloud providers for critical industrial security. She is passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and all things systems/security. When she's not wrangling servers or automating the things, you can find her lifting weights, snapping photos, gaming, tinkering on computer projects, sewing, or hanging out with friends.
